Youth Ministry

30 Hour Famine
World Vision's 30 Hour Famine is a worldwide movement of youth who are serious about serving God and fighting hunger - all on an empty stomach.  For 30 hours, the Youth get a taste of hunger by not eating - something more than a billion people around the world experience every day. And by doing fundraising activities, community service projects, and learning more about the facts of world hunger, students are changed in amazing ways as they help others and save lives.

Souper Bowl of Caring
Souper Bowl of Caring began in 1990 after Brad Smith, a S.C. pastor, led a Super Bowl Sunday prayer—“Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat.”—and inspired youth group members to collect money for local hunger-relief charities. Since that time, this simple project has grown into a national movement of congregations, schools, businesses and individuals. Every penny or food item collected goes directly to a charity selected by each participating group. This year, we collected $421.00 which went to Lexington Interfaith Community Service's Food Pantry to help those who are going hungry in our community.

Salkehatchie
Salkehatchie Summer Service is a pioneering servant ministry at selected sites in South Carolina involving high school and college age youth, adult community leaders and persons of different cultures in upgrading housing, motivating community cooperative efforts by helping persons to help themselves, and providing all participants with opportunities for personal growth and service. Our Youth have participated in Salkehatchie for MANY years. This week long program is about serving others through Christ.

Revolution
Revolution is a spiritual renewal retreat weekend that is specifically designed for Youth. The weekend consists of fantastic worship music with live bands as well as a terrific God-centered message from an international speaker. This past year's event had over 2100 participants, many of whom had made the decision to give themselves to Christ.  The 2011 event is planned for February 11 - 13, 2011

Rafting
The Youth have grown fond of having a rafting trip during the summer. We pack up the bus and head to NC, TN, or VA for a weekend of whitewater adventure and fellowship. It is a time of spiritual growth away from the fast paced environment of home.

Winter Jam
It's more like "Let's Jam because it's Winter!!!"  Winter Jam is Christian Music's Largest Annual Tour. The 2011 Tour line-up includes: Newsborys, Kutless, David Crowder Band, Red, Newsong, Francesca Battistelli, & Guest Speaker Tony Nolan.  We load up the bus on Friday March 11,2011 after school to attend this 5 hour Rockin' event!  Click here for more info.  www.hearitfirst.com/winterjam/default.aspx

Wii Tournament
Beulah United Methodist Church is the first church that we know of to offer a Wii Tournament. The event is held on a Saturday and draws players from age 9 to 79! Teams get together to compete in a Christian environment. Winners take home the prize! "Wii are here....let the games begin!!!"

Basketball, Bowling, Movies, etc.
The Youth get together almost every weekend to enjoy events. Some of these events include basketball, bowling, movies, floor hockey, volleyball, and table tennis. Come out and hang with us!

Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Dinner
Participation in the Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Dinner is a must. It is a time in which we serve our elders food and learn from them through their stories and witness.

Christmas Cantata
Christ is the reason for the season and, every year, the Youth take active roles in our Christmas Cantata. These roles include singing, acting, and set designing. Afterwards, we all celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in fellowship and enjoy a home cooked meal.

VBS
Vacation Bible School is held for all ages including the Youth. Each year is something new and different. Sometimes it's bible study and sometimes it's mission work. You're invited to join us....... and you thought VBS was just for kids!!!

Sunday School
We hold Sunday School every Sunday after the Contemporary Service.

Contemporary Service
Want to worship in jeans and a t-shirt? Come as you are! The Contemporary Service starts at 9AM and is over in less than an hour! Remember.....God cares what is on the inside and not what you wear on the outside!!!
