The first home will be built in Orangeburg as part of the Methodist Oaks Retirement Community. Then, the ministry hopes to build homes all across SC.

For example, we know that one of the major risk factors for a repeat offender is lack of shelter or employment. United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM), SEJ exists to promote, encourage and enable Christians to exemplify “Christian Love In Action”. Our aim is to achieve the Great Commission through providing short-term mission opportunities for everyday Christians. UMVIM provides opportunities for service by developing and nurturing relationships with domestic and international leaders. We continually nurture our contacts with these leaders to respond to the needs of local communities and to provide comprehensive project information. Our office strives to connect volunteers’ talents to suitable projects for effective service.
